A few days ago Lilly Allen reported on her twitter that 5 years ago she was contacted by someone who wanted her to do a live stream for the popular MMORPG Second Life.
He offered 200,000 BTC for this, and she refused.
Back then it was only worth a few hundred pounds. Today it's worth about 118 Million Pounds, trumping her reported self worth of 9 million pounds.
She ended the tweet with the hashtags #idiot #idiot.
I don't how I'd feel in her place. How would you?

If you were a celebrity, with a schedule and fans and a career, how would you respond if I offered you $500 worth of stock in some internet startup for a performance?

I don't know about Allen here, if she ever was thinking about doing it at all. If so, and she ever did some research and calculated that it was not worth it, so be it. That's ok. Observe the facts and weight them.
If she did not accept it because of never having heard of bitcoins, and never did any research about what it was. Her mistake.
Who had heard of Bitcoins years ago? Very few probably. |

I agree with this, but now Lilly Allen can get bit attention because of this mistaken story, I didnt knew her for example It wouldn’t surprise me if this as true and she is just riding a bit of free publicity. Is she releasing a new album any time soon? |
