When I saw this
Can you guys help with ideas, perhaps offer some work for bounties, or any other general advice?
I was wondering, what I would like to have, to make my life easier, and came up with this:

MULTI-ALTCOIN-MULTI-WALLET
Something like multibit, but for altcoins.
Modular, functional, brandable per coin.
Download just one plugin for a new coin, not a whole wallet. They all look the same, are based in the same qt-code, so they can coexist.
Several wallets per currency, to keep blockchain entries completely unconnected!
Really simple GUI when used for only one wallet in one currency - important for newbies.

First step, coinyewest :-)
  • Team up with "main guys" and millionaires of really active, non-dead altcoins
  • Suggest to contribute to a multi-currency bounty
  • Inspire an open source massive collaboration scheme for programmers
  • fat bounties for the necessary aspects of basic platform; with bare essentials
  • and several bounties for first extensions
  • Let's make a wishlist of "oh that would be nice to have, too", prioritze them with polls, then always the top of that list gets gets new bounties
  • several forum pages: schematics, core programming, add-ons, betatesters, newbies getting started, ...

...

module ideas, not essential, but nice-to-have
  • a plugin per exchange site, to get the current prices for this currency
  • an escrow module, where always two three or four people have access to the same wallet, but each according to her role in the escrow protocol
  • perhaps there is even escrow exchange inside my wallet possible?

Just a first shot at this. Please suggest more.

What do you think?

three ideas today: crowdbounty, escrow wallet plugin for trustless exchange,  multi currency wallet Today was a good day, thank you, CoinYeCoin :-)

Hi, I have actually just posted a thread earlier about what you're looking for. I tried to understand your post message and found that there are many similarities. Could you please take a look at my thread and let me know what you think?

And, honestly, I need some funds to develop this project.

Kevin.

exactly.  Me too. We all do.
And that's where my first idea might be really cool for you, for all of us.

But mainly, I really just want my life a little bit easier, with a dozen coexisting coin candidates.

Thanks for posting your link here, these two pages can learn from each other :-)

Let's collect
  • bounty givers
  • general concepts, schematics, architecture
  • technologies (like qt), and protocolls (like escrow)
  • developers, programmers, code proof readers, ...
  • user wishes

Yeah, idea: What about a crowdfunding pot.
Is there already a service where users can send in some coin dust to encourage working on a specific collective goal?

I think my proposal is only a multi-wallet, multi-altcoins on multi-platform application.

Your proposal seems to go beyond that scope since you're talking about launching a service to find bounty givers or a crowdfunding pot. And, just FYI, here are some cryptocurrency-based crowdfunding services:
http://coinstarter.co.uk/index.html
https://bitcoinstarter.com
http://coinfunder.com

Since we both needs funds to work on the project, why not we consolidate our plans and goals? I'm not sure exactly how, but I'm still thinking.

Thanks a lot for pointing them out. Very nice, they exist, how used & useful are they already?

And you? How far are you into creating a text / concept / video of your multimultimulti wallet on one of those crowdfunding sites?

I wrote about CROWD BOUNTY just now.

Maybe.

Right now, I've just experimented compiling the bitcoin C code on my Mac, and trying to integrate it on Java code. (For Bitcoin, I'd be using bitcoinj, but I'm just trying it out because all other altcoins are based on C code.) I actually don't like it because it is a full client. The goal of the wallet is to target non-technical users, who will definitely be annoyed that it takes hours to "sync". Looks like SPV is definitely the way to go to gain better acceptance among new users.

I don't know how much effort is required to port to SPV based on Java for the popular altcoins. I'll probably ask in the respective altcoins forums later...

Saw that. Still thinking about your idea...
