I kind of expected after several days and more than 20 posts, I wouldn't have to wait 360 seconds between posts... 6 minutes is ridiculous.  For the first few hours or posts or whatever, to keep down spam, I get it.  How long does this shit have to go on?  Getting tired of using the forums now.  Can't browse for a few minutes at a time and make posts, have to leave the window open with a post and come back to hit Post.  Then it says I'm logged out, log back in, have to wait 360 seconds again.  Super excessive and the most irritating experience on a forum I've ever had.

HAH, and I as posted that, apparently my last post was still within 360 seconds.  Because in a 6 minute window, it's not that hard to read a couple threads and have a reply.  Great job guys.  Or maybe it was the search when I was looking for answers about when this stupid 360 rule would be gone.... getting on my last nerve.

Yeah, there are a few stipulations to get out of newb jail. I'm at about six hours logged in and I don't know how many posts but I still see that ugly 360 second cool down from time to time.

I agree with another poster though, like bitcoins, being a member here is a complicated and non-intuitive process that you have to feel out. It frustrates a lot of people and unless it's made easy "for the masses" it probably won't ever (bitcoins & the forum) be adopted en mass.

Log-ins and attempted posts count and reset the timer. You need to wait the full 6 minutes.

It decreases the more activity you get. Mine is about 28 seconds now.

I'm just saying, this is super tedious and discourages savvy users from wanting to deal with this shit.  Great, newb jail, but after a couple dozen posts, it just makes me want to gtfo and not waste my time playing games with trying to post here.

There are two ways to fix this:

1. lots of moderators
2. posting restrictions

It's less than ideal, but it is acceptable.

And, it is not really that bad as you only need to survive through getting 15 activity, and your time limit will down to just 75 seconds.
