Easiest/Best way to liquidate cryptocurrency?

Hey guys just wondering what the easiest/best way to sell your cryptocurrency for preferably CAD but USD would work too. I am using cryptsy right now but they do not have a USD or CAD exchange. My first guess would be to exchange to BTC because it is the most widely accepted, then the next steps would be?
