Hi everybody.

Maybye, someone here have problem with loading blockchain with read-only permisions? I set chmod -w on blockchain files, but bitcoind is freezing when blockchain is readonly Sad

The blockchain is being updated all the time. You simply can't make it read only.

I want to run 10x bitcoind in VMs - but i need only balance check in wallet. I don't want to copy 13GB of blockchain instead mounting nfs with blockchain.

UnionFS can do the miracle: make read-only NFS exports locally writeable
