It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Scrypt

AMD FX-Series Processor
4 - PCI-E Mobo
4 - ATI HD 7950 (Best $/Hash and per watt ratio)
1 - 1500w PSU or 2- 750w

This could end up 2.8Mh/s

BTC/SHA-256 Coins

CEX = Cloud miner of course, you can check the link on my sig.
ASIC Miners really drops price faster than you can drop your pants. So better buy hardware cheaper than $5 per Gh/s.
Good thing is you could use the same setup above to mine asic miners just plug in more USB Hubs.
