In case anyone missed it, here's the CEO's post from two days ago about why they will accept bitcoin: http://www.cnbc.com/id/101315433Edit: also, Patrick is active on twitter if anyone wants to give him a shout-out: @OverstockCEO

Bitcoin is the first monetary system to credibly offer perfect information to all economic participants.

How well is it doing? they've only just started accepting it lol. Hopefully it is a massive success though and others will follow suit. Props to them for taking the chance.

Actually the NOT in the title might be ok.
BTC goes to payment processor which gives fiat to overstock.
So overstock actually accepts fiat.
Am i wrong?

If you pay with your CC in a store, you still say the store accepts the CC. Even though they get fiat from the CC company.

You're wrong that they don't take Bitcoin; they do, but you're right that they receive it in cash.

Hmm, ok, good point. I would imagine either USD or BTC at exchange rate at the time. Even the checkout BTC amount must have a fairly short validity. Otherwise you could abuse their store.

The credit card itself is based on fiat. Overstock does not accept BTC for a later use to...restock itself using BTC to pay it's suppliers. Etc... That would be an actual acceptance of BTC. What they offer is a way for you to pay in BTC but what they accept is fiat.
