Now that Overstock is accepting bitcoins, is it wise to invest in Overstock stocks?

It would not hurt, hedge like anything, spend what you can in it. I invested in AMD in late November at 3.76 ...its a little over 4.00 so not a huge return, but figured the demand on graphics cards would get them some buzz...

Its all about how the industry promotes it, you can hardly find ANY news about AMD high end cards being out of stock from Financial company's, thus the stock isnt moving at all... come 6 months from now when their margins and profits are up, the stock will lift.

If Overstock gets a lot of press from the action, speculators will go to work and 'speculate' volume and revenue will increase by X, hence expected earnings forecast. Internet traffic analysis etc will also help fuel speculation... real result will be 3rd Q or 4 Q results this year if they smash expectations....

Short answer, should be a safe bet

Probably makes little difference. You shouldn't make your decision to buy stocks on whether they take bitcoin or not. I wish it was that important Wink

On AMD, they also get about $110/xbox sold and $100/ps4 sold, as well as being the processor in nintendo wii u.  They are poised to put up some impressive quarter 4, 2013 earnings

It's worth a shot. Only invest what you're willing to lose.

As for the AMD I speculate their sales will be through the roof this coming quarter.
