And what happens with the people who mined the old version to block 5200? I've spent 2 days mining and barely got 1000 icoins. Which are worthless now.

The difficulty will be reset at block 5200. You will be mining 1000 coins within minutes/hours with a decent hashrate. There is a separate thread as to why this was necessary. But all in all, be prepared to mine once the blockchain hits 5200.

timeframe?

Timeframe should be, now, to help the rest of the miners get by the remaining blocks at 25 diff.

I understand it is nice to keep making some other coin with lower difficulty while this one is not ready but community wise is not so "cool".

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I actually liked how they did this... it allows more of us to discover the re-launch/reset before block 5200 at the same time as it awards those of us stubborn enough to mine these last 25 diff bitches of blocks Smiley

This is completely unacceptable. People like me, who didn't have the old wallet, got screwed. I downloaded the v1.2 wallet according to instructions on first page and started solo mining. How should I know that the client was pointing to new blockchain? Why the new client is not connected to old blockchain?
Please fix the first page post and state that old blockchain should be downloaded with the new client. I spent all night mining coins that appear to go to trash...

Well if you were on the correct blockchain, you would've earned maybe 1 or 2 coins on average from your night's mining. So what you really lost was 1 or 2 coins. I wouldn't call that screwed. Post your address and I'll send you 1 and someone else feeling generous can post the other one. Wink

I see. Let others mine the hard blocks away so you can join for the easy ones? What about all the miners who have stayed mining a whole lot longer, were they screwed as well?

This is not my point, I'm not crying so I can get donation... the instructions are not clear at all. I suggest that the download link for v1.2 client will include the old blockchain and the instructions. Oherwise, it is meaningless for all new people that don't have old client...

Competely agree... I am mining iCoins for the past 3 or 4 days as were many other I saw on the pools.

But also think that downloading the old blockchain should be on the mandatory instructions and not buried on one of the pages.

you're still not getting it are you? I would help to get to the block reset. BUT it is not clear in the startpost. It looks like the relaunch is already here and we can start mining. The wrong chain does NOT help! What if the coin wouldve reset when i was mining last night and was still on the wrong chain? I would be screwed even more. The point is its totally not clear whats going on. With a failed first launch and this launch already failed imo (for newcomers) I don't see a bright future. It's a shame because the design is really nice.
