Arent bitcoins the ideal way of transferring money to/from online gambling websites as they are anonymous, which avoids the safe port act entirely.

If the bitcoin exchanges work then the US$ <-> bitcoin is easy. All that is left is a gambling website that accepts bitcoins.

Why doesnt this exist?

Hmm, it does exist but no poker. No explicit odds.

Though it is interesting, its surprising that it isnt tied into an exchange from US <-> Bitcoin.

I suspect they are not as anonymous as you think they are.

wasn't e-gold shut down for facilitating gambling?  I don't think bitcoins can be, since they are a decentralized p2p system, however the exchange sites certainly can.

I am very interested in playing Texas Hold'em for BitCoins. I don't know how I can help, I'm not much of a programer, but I would consult for free on the gameplay side of things. Maybe even put up some seed money. And I would definitely play some poker.

E-gold may have had a fine imposed, but they are still in operation.  I don't know how effectively they are working at the moment, but they aren't out of business yet.

Point being that any links between the exchanges and gambling sites is probably a bad idea.

Lots of small exchanges might be the ultimate equilibrium. Sure they can spend 4months and $3M to hunt down and harass someone who is exchanging $2k/day. But if there are 528 more all around the world they might not even bother stopping the first one.
