Hey guys,

I'm going to start offering up some custom built mining rigs that's are preconfigured and optimized for the best possible hash rate per card, and would like to get some input from this community.

Would anyone be interested in 270x or 290x mining rigs? I ask because 290x rigs can pull too much current for a 15amp breaker (the standard in households) and even push a 20amp to its limit. I also know 270 miners are a little... Lacking... In some of the rates that they produce.

Does a cost of $4000 for a 5x 280x rig that has a hash rate of about 3750kh/s sound fair? If not, what would you expect a system like this to cost and be willing to pay?

If all goes well, I'll start selling sometime in the next few weeks.

Just my opinion:

$4000 seems a bit high.

Lets say $350 each for 280X = $1750
2 - 1000w Corsair PSUs (Probably overkill but..) = $400
8GB RAM (4GB should be fine but...) = $90
Mobo to support 5+ GPUs = $150
CPU = $35
5 - Powered Risers = $75
Misc "case" materials = $100
Shipping costs = $50-$150 (hard to say, if you have Amazon prime you could get all of these -GPUs with free 2 day shipping)

Rough Total for equipment: $2700

+

Labor = $100-$300 (Subjective. On this forum, you will have a hard time selling this since most people here can assemble a miner. But on places like Ebay you could up this)

Maybe you could get $3k here and around $3250-$3500 on Ebay?

(Obviously this is all assuming the prices stay high. Once AMD gets their act together and starts pumping out some more GPUs the price will drop.)

hmm, ok.

For one build, I was planning on using the following:
Gigabyte 990FXA UD5 motherboard
Lepa 80 Gold Certififed 1600W power supply
AMD FX-8320 Vishera CPU (For quarkcoin/etc. CPU mining)
and 5X Gigabyte 280X tricooler cards.

I suppose I could certainly lower the prices, but I was aiming for more of a quality build than a cheap cpu like you mentioned. Knowing this, would roughly 3K still seem fair to you, or too low?

Oh. I wasn't even thinking about CPU mining. That changes the price a little.

Well mobo adds another $30 to cost, PSU subtracts roughly $60 (Can 1 1600w PSU handle all this equipment though?), CPU add about $120.

So equipment cost would be closer to $2800.

It all depends on how much you want to be paid for your work and how fast you think you could get your hands on the equipment. I could see this sell on here for 3K, maybe a bit more, and definitely more than 3K on Ebay.

Again - Just my opinion. People are unpredictable, so you never really know how much they would be willing to pay.
(Especially right now with the shortage of GPUs. If you could get this equipment and be ready to ship within a few days, I think you could make a pretty decent profit)
