I know this has been covered but reading many different answers leaves me still confused. Running Bitcoin-Qt on my Macbook Air all was fine until recently I got some message about corrupted files and then "Failed to write undo data". Wallet show my coins but stops with this message and closes. I am running VLC, which I mention only because of comments about that. Also I copied my wallet, not understanding how this really works, now reading that is not such a good idea. Again, very confused about what to do and scared of doing the wrong thing and losing it all. Will installing and running the new Bitcoin 0.8.6 do it? Do I need to go into folders and do something there? Or is there not even a trustworthy fix for this yet? It does seem there are a few who could tell me exactly what to do- step by step, which I need- and would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Thanks in advance!

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Wow, no replies. Including my request to the moderator. You'd think someone would at least have said try downloading the new v0.8.6 which I just figured out on my own and fixed everything. Really useful forum you got here, fellas. And I mean that with as much dripping sarcasm as you can possibly imagine.
