CPU mining Primecoin (XPM) with i7 3770 - help please!

Hey all,

I have been using the following site to estimate the chains per day (CPD) rate of various CPUs.

I was wondering, are these numbers really accurate? I have an i7 3770 and it says I could be getting anywhere from .06 (CPD) to 2.0+ CPD. I am stuck at .06 - which is a MASSIVE difference from its apparent capabilities.
I was really hoping someone could help me out here, in explaining (or pointing me in the right direction) how to get more CPD out of my CPU.

Yup, there is massive variance on primecoin, that's all I can say really, still figuring the nitty gritty here, basically installed and ignored it mostly.

As far as I know the only way you can really "tame" it is to have multiple CPUs/workers to smooth the ride a bit.

That doesn't even make sense to me. Isn't that telling it to use 4 cores?

I have it at -8 and am getting so few CPD. =/

An i5 has 2 cores but can run 4 threads.  An i7 3770 has 4 cores but can run 8 threads.  So your settings should be right.

But what does primeminer say?  Should be around 1 chain/d.

Because of too many segmentation faults, I am now running my i5 with genproclimit = 2.  The chains/d is almost the same and the seg faults have gone.
