I am interested in buying one of these from mininghardware.co.uk but from watching the video it sounds like a vacuum cleaner, anyone tried swapping the fan(s) for some decent quiet ones? i would be concerned about my next door neighbours hearing it as is.

Shouldn't you be contacting NineLives and see if he has a solution?

Though it may be quicker to hear from people that actually have the miner running and hear of any ways they have managed to reduce the noise levels, skimmed through the thread for it and a couple of people have commented on the noise but no solution was offered.

Well from what I heard from NineLives on the phone, is that the fan spin really fast to make sure the board stay cool.

My miner is arriving maybe next Monday. As soon as I get it, I will plug it in. Then see how bad the noise is, if it is really bad. I might change the fan or add water cooling.

I understand it needs to spin fast to keep it cool but you can get a 2500 rpm fan that only emits 40db, with the current fan it must be at least 75db or more, anyone know what rpm the fans are on these rigs?
