Hi, I am fairly new to all crypto transactions and want to have some input on the best way to accept BTC and other alt coin on a website. Is it best to use only a BTC address or to go with a payment gateway like Bitpay or similar.

What I do is, I use coinpayments. You can do a little bit study on which one gives your better option. By the way welcome to the forum.

By the way coinpayments and Bitpay, they are payment gateway like paypal and stuffs. If you do not need a payment gateway for your website then why not simply use only a Bitcoin address. This will be the best option.

Be happy be at peace. Looking forward to BTC at $1M

It can be as simple as posting an address on the website, but the problem is that you won't know who paid you. Integrating a processor such as BitPay or Coinbase is pretty easy too, so I would recommend doing that.

You can receive a transfer with any legit site such as bitpay or coinbase, there's nothing wrong with it. Why it bothers you if you'll use a wallet that is dedicated to receive bitcoin only?
This is the good part for starters who are asking in the right way and to the right people, try to explore different wallets and look on what wallet will give you the convenience you are looking for.
Welcome to the crypto world.

If you're just starting out, we recommend using something like coinbase merchant or blockchain.info merchant as they are simple to set up. Once you feel comfortable with these or better yet if your sales are going through the roof, switching to bitpay would be the next step!
