Yes as earlier poster wrote, just to make sure it's clear: you can receive any ERC-token to your wallet, and they can be seen from etherscan.io (search your public key). If you try to send them using for example MyEtherWallet, and it's a new token, you probably have to add the token contract by clicking 'Add Custom Token' inside MEW. You can get the contract adress by going to your etherscan.io wallet, clicking the token and there you see the contract adress.
So, simply put, if any ERC token is sent to your ETH wallet adress, it's safe even if you've 'added' it in MEW:
