I didn't think about it much.  Given your fairly good points, my answer would be just this sub, or if there are any other kinda deliberately off-topic and which people who think they are 'clever' can try to promote a particular brand of propaganda.

Maybe on some of the 'announce subs it also makes sense for there to be no self-moderation since the announce thread often becomes a rather valuable source of community feedback on the real-world operation of a particular effort.  It would suck for a scammer to get away with scams longer because he moderated out complaints.  But then anyone could start and [service ann]-UNMOD thread for the general community to discuss a service I suppose.  Maybe it happens.  I kinda almost exclusively scan/troll the politics+society one these days for general non-BTC related entertainment since I don't indulge in any other form of social media

I'm tired of this board being a bullshit cesspool of FAR OFF conspiracies, attacks on Jews/ other ethnic groups, attacks on the ILLUMINATI, and so on and so forth.

Can we have a real fucking section where we have policy debates, debates about what the president / any political person has done without erupting into personal attacks and retarded statements from sources with little to no value. (Yes that means I don't want to see some stupid fucking blog spam or youtube video with no value)

I'd like to know if I have any interest / support of something like this.

I would like to see a lot of the garbage go to one area, and the more serious disccusions staying here. We'd have to work to define what 'serious' means though.

As Suchmoon suggested perhaps try Serious Discussion for more "serious" conversations.  It isn't up to me or any mod to arbitrate the "value of a source" you're going to have to vet the value of those sources (and the poster IMO) own your own.

Adding more rules that are subject to a mod's review/control is just going to give the vocal minority more shit to cry about, trust me they have enough to cry about and a victim complex already and do so incessantly.

I want everyone to have the right to post what they believe, and to post their stance on issues. This is true even if I am condemning the viewpoint.

I personally do not respond to the extreme extremist posts, illuminati posts, and posts that attack specific religions. I encourage others to do the same, and I predict they will eventually leave the P&S sub.

If policies were to be changed for the P&S sub, I would suggest using Twitter's Hateful Conduct Policy, in particular:
