Even though it was my idea, it was just an idea and I agree with you. I'd rather calmly mine right now and watch USDe grow in value steadily. I was just imagining a world where the bar was set higher so quickly that nobody could react quick enough to hop on the USDe train for a quick buck. We'd all just hold onto our coins like we are and do our standard trading here and there.
If done correctly, all it would do is raise the price and give us attention. The only real drawback would be if everyone suddenly dumped.

I am a conservative person and I prefer the concept of Satoshi Nakamoto. The idea is bigger than the creator or owner. To manipulate the market ends in their destruction.

@SMDashie, the price is being manipulated already by a person (or it seems like theres few still competing with eachother). While this price increase will create a lot of hype for now, I think it has the possibility to hurt the coin in the long run. If the price fails to stay raised and takes a dive back to the organic level, new users (and especially the ones that got in while the price was high) will have low confidence of the coins market/reputation.

So I'd say its best to let the value be set by its users according to the daily confidence

The pumper/dumper problem in mi opinion should be handled with different means, which already was mentioned here: mining difficulty adjustments.
