The one true keyboard

Now most keyboards have the home, end, delete, page up, and page down keys mashed together and sideways while the insert key is shoved up where it doesn't go.

I was wondering what you were talking about and then I saw the Logitech up there. Why would anyone do that?

 i can say that on a laptop i certainly don't mind it but they maintain the block as it was with the double height delete by moving insert over above f12 the double height escape key didn't force anything though and that i do like

That double height escape is really nice.

That's what I hate about my current keyboard. The ESC is really, really tiny.

I used to have a fancy media keyboard (fancy for the day, when volume, media center, and email, shopping, and internet buttons were awesome), now I just go for regular ones

I bought one once that had a finger print scanner, which was cool for the first week or so, then I stopped using the scanner, it worked great, not sure why I stopped using it, probably lost it in a move, actually saw it in a box like two weeks ago



For the G13 or whatever the fuck, you could use the LCD screen to display hashrate, that'd be kinda cool and useful

Have you had a chance to test it againt a IBM manufactured model m for comparison i've been thinking of buying one of those for the family pc and was curious how they compared.

Unfortunately, no.  It does sound like a real keyboard, though. It doesn't have key caps, and you can see dimples/marring from the injection molding on the side of the keys facing the back of the keyboard, but this is only an aesthetic issue. Mine was made 3/27/2009, and I don't know if anything has changed since then.

I typed on an IBM model M keyboard for ages. And on the buckling spring keyboards even before that, albeit with other layouts (original PC, 3270, etc)

For years and years and years they were the only things I'd use. It's the only reason I even own PS2-USB adapters.

I actually ended up getting massively surprised a few years back. I managed to spill my drink into the M I was using at work and then discovered my spare was actually busted. I ended up using one of those Apple aluminum keyboards because there was one lying around the office.

It took me a while to get used to it but I actually ended up liking them better. I still have several Ms lying around though, probably never going to be willing to get rid of them.

I have a Customizer 101 and it feels and operates just like a classic m. Great keyboard, and noisy as all get out.

i'm also a big fan of older keyboards and i'm also too lazy to take my own photo so this is from google:



it's a honeywell, i'm not sure of the exact model but i think mine's older than the one in this photo.

actually a few years ago i was looking for a second hand one and the only old honeywell keyboards i could find for sale was this box of 15 from some guy in sydney.

i paid $10 for the whole box and i've still got 12 or so lying around somewhere.

edit: actually that photo above is far too modern... i don't have fancy new-fangled 'windows' keys or any other b.s.
