reserved also mods need to do their job and remove flagged posts/ban IP Adresses like OREOCOIN where the mods left this post up with a blatant virus just sitting there infecting anyone who passed by https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=476944.0Oh look at that, still there. EDIT: 3/20 : Finally removed. about time

I liked It about contrilling the spam postings but for new commers to BTC and in Crypto world i think its more better if we will keep one different sections for giveaway. What you think about this Ideas? New commers will always be in search of some free giveaways and to start. We must promote them and to encourage them. My personal thinking

I completely agree with this. A well defined area for giveaways is needed.

I noticed that more then 75% of posts on first pages of ANN's are still "Reserved" posts except most people don't call it that. Very annoying because it's just spam you have to wade through. There's so little actual discussion.
I wish this rule would be enforced a bit more.
Why not get a few extra mods to do that ? Getting some volunteers from the altcoin community won't cost bitcointalk ANYthing, so why not ?

Mods are paid, but that's besides the point. Finding people that can be trusted with mod powers is always a challenge.

Mods are paid, but that's besides the point. Finding people that can be trusted with mod powers is always a challenge. We are a great amount of people that love crypto that got much sparetime to do such things. A challenge? Sure, but it must be done, start of with some mod powers, give more responsibility over time. I've been moderator for many bigger forums with thousands (9000+) of members writing on them, but I never had any "reputation" when I started, I was tryed out and it worked - Lucas

There are community auditing projects in preparation. Be patient, like 1 week from now, there will be an announcement.

If giveaway could be done from bitcointalk then may be new users get support, Did anyone think about it? Can't we make one different section only for giveaways. I think all other restrictions are well.

This is a new model, the old model now has no one to play, it is going to some innovation, but this pattern should be almost over.

too many pool owners and exchange osners promoting as well, there should be a section for each and each should be allowed to post only once (never be quoted).
Reserved might have stopped, but now the pointless troll posts dominate the boards.
If only there could be a voting mechanism like reddit. or hide functionality that would allow a post with enough hides (from members with enough authority or post count, or wtv criteria you figure) could hide these trolls.
