 my rig has a 290 card and a Platinum 850W+ ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified psu-- I would like to add one more card any suggestions for the most khs

If you've already got a 290, get another 290. I hate mixing types of GPUs in a rig. I hate mixing different brands/models of the same card in a rig! Each card is different, so it's better to just set the same settings for everything, and let it run.

That said, I'm a big fan of the 280x. Runs cooler, is $100 cheaper, only gets 100Kh/s less, and can be undervolted.
