hello fellow miners and Bitcoin owners, we are students studying electronic engineering and we're currently working on a project (thesis) for advanced and more efficient bitcoin mining. We've already developed a new hashing structure (for SHA-256) which is in the testing phase at the moment. To make this project work, we need funding, every little bit helps . Normally we're not the kind of guys asking for money, but we've ran out of options and this is the only way to make it work... this is our address: 1PZjCMCaoe8uSQLx362j7Q7NGGcL3nW3M2 thanks in advance, The electronic engineering class of 2013-2014 (Again sorry for asking, but this is our last resort.)

May I know what hashing structure you are talking about? And is it a set of software or hardware design?

Welcome to the site!
It might help for you to have a website on your university's webpage or something, to show legitimacy and encourage donations. Plus, I would love to read about your project!

We're using an ARM-processing structure and writing our own code (We're developing both hardware and software because we included IT students aswell.) I cannot write it down here in case it gets copied and without permission of all the students.. have to be careful. It's a good idea to make a specific website for it, but at the moment we don't have any thanks for the advice anyway! This is a link to our school (electronics section): http://www.ap.be/wetenschap-en-techniek/opleidingen/elektronica-ictHave a nice day.

Technology is often opaque to me, but marketing I know If you can get your IT folks to make a site for it on your college's domain, it will help

I smell scam like a mile away why you would use ARM processors in a sha 256 algorithm and posting some random college in belgium. Come on dude you could do better

It's true the ARM isn't capable of solving SHA-256 but it manages the whole system and connection to the pc. And yes I'm a student in Belgium why isn't that possible ?

I don't represent this organisation or Butterfly labs, the founders in any way, but, it seems to me that this project might be the sort of thing that the organisation would consider funding... http://www.bitcoindf.org/Be sure to submit a full and detailed proposal, with abundant detail about how the money will be used and real world contact information for your professors and project leaders.

It depends on what you want to know? You mean like also starting from scratch and making scheme's, hardware and software or just mining with existing hardware/software or even no mining at all just the theoretical background? well there's a video on youtube that I like, its a bit hard to understand in the beginning but explains a lot in an objective way: (its not my video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lx9zgZCMqXE

Because we can only use a small budget from school.

This is why you are met with skepticism: Outline EXACTLY why taking BTC would forward your endeavor. I get it that you need funds for equipment - but why not utilize something like bitfundme? Crowdsource elsewhere...as others point out, that's sort of crude that you resort to posting one single payment address. Seems harder to buy equipment with BTC as opposed to Paypal/Currency.
