Would be great to see Amazon accept BTC. And I don't say that because I want to see a connected price increase but because I would love to be able to pay stuff on Amazon with BTC.

With the recent Overstock BTC accept I see Bitcoins having a very bright future, and that future isn't even too far away. We are getting into something big with Bitcoins in the year of 2014 I think.

Having said that I'll give preference to those who accept it first over those who grudgingly jump on the bandwagon at a later date because they feel they might be missing out.

yeah i had to buy books from overstock so i could use BTC.  i would have preferred to use amazon.  i didnt even know overstock sold books until a couple days ago.  i may just keep buying from overstock, even if amazon accepts bitcoin, out of principal now.

You can buy amazon gift cards with bitcoin through gyft.  Its kind of a proxy to using bitcoin via in-store credit.  This is how many merchants are getting into the game initially it seems.

I'm not sure Amazon will be forced to accept them, but I reckon they'll probably get on board eventually. The question is will they be one of the first massive retailers to do so?

I reckon the day Amazon goes out of business or the way of Myspace is a long way away yet lol. I don't think refusal to accept Bitcoin will be much of a deal breaker anytime soon, but I hope I'm wrong.
