Would be something new and exciting and probably be extremely successful. Would love to put my SSD's to work.

Ah, you mean PoBH.

Proof Of Burning Hard-drive.  Wink

Proof of Work is based on performing a difficult task that is easy to verify as genuine by many others on the network. I'm not sure how this would work for a Hard Drive. I suppose in theory the proof of work could be in actually being a node. Provided this work is easy to verify, and difficult to falsify, then you could incorporate rewards into the blockchain for those who support the network in this fashion.

That depends on the size of the blockchain/ledger.

BTW Come-from-Beyond experimented with quorum based coins. Maybe you should give an other try to eMU Cheesy.  Hatching depends on the disk speed as well.

I have one too, and it clocks at 14000 read and 16000 write, but ramdisk mining is a surefire way to destroy your memory, they aren't built for that.

From my understanding of emu, for the first year or so hatching on a crappy 5400 rpm hard drive will be the same as hatching on an SSD, and I'm not very fond of that.

Any chance of an algorithm which uses the temperature regulator module's idle time of my automated espresso machine to mine coffee bean coins? Would Saeco rock in that?
Oh, and before I forget. I also have a toaster! They were supposedly very smart in Battlestar Galactica. I wonder how smart my toster is when put into mining!
LOL. This thread was the best joke I read today.

Please dont forget about Talkie Toaster from Red Dwarf. He was rather smart!

Also I have a USB powered self stirring coffee mug at home, any chance of converting that? the Excess heat would keep my coffee warm!

Would anyone like any Toast?
