I know that their site says "will be reviewed within the next 20 business days" but I wanted to get a real world heartbeat as I wait.

I'd stay well clear of Mt Gox if you ever plan to take fiat out - it takes months and still no guarantee.

I'd be careful with BTC-e as well, lots of people have claimed that deposits they sent have not turned up.

Go with Bitstamp.

Verification might take 20+ days but you'll be a lot longer trying to get your money out that's for sure.

I've been waiting to be verified now for 30+ days, I've somewhat given up and gone to Kraken but there exchange rate is a good bit lower then MT.Gox so its a bit disappointing. The one great thing about kraken though is the verification process which takes minutes and for me (living in Europe) having those quick SEPA transfers are really handy.

Are you in the UK? Bittylicious is my favourite. Very swift and easy to use.

Unfortunately not, I'm in Ireland so I need the transfers in euro but service looks pretty good.

I had to wait over 2 weeks and email them before they did my transaction, there are easier ways to get hold of bitcoins.

Just want to say thank you to every one who warned me about Mt. Gox!  In the end I did not use them and am very grateful that I got info here.
