BTC is already becoming a more useful and liquid medium of value, as Overstock and other retailers begin accepting it as payment for goods. The future is bright. Smiley

BTC is here to stay. Even if BTC we're to tank because of greedy peps. Trying to do a huge "Double Spend" and could ruin the trust of the btc system of things. Won't matter, people like the BTC system. Like the digital currency not be controlled by Goverments. Like not paying on outragouis fees for transferring of funds. List goes on and on. yes, it won't matter if BTC1.0 fails. BTC2.0 will come out and everyone will start off fresh and zero account. BUT so will the Difficulty! Which we can mine with our CPU's like in the old days, LOL. Make 100's of BTC & sit on them and wait for it to do a comeback. Besides everyone loves a underdog...

I don't think Satoshi anticipated the crazy mining difficulty situation and the consolidation of mining.

There's definitely a room for a cryptocurrency that's more resistant to that in accordance with the original anarchist spirit but I'm sure BTC is here to stay.

Personally I just put my money where my mouth is - freedom and anarchy (in the positive sense of  both words).
