Hi, I'm interested in learning how to mine for btc/LTC and even others that become profitable. I'm very new to the crypto world so would like to get some tips/info on where to start links or even one on one help. I don't have a lot of money but would be willing to spend a few thousand to get started.

Thanks

Rather than repeat information, I just made a posting : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=414706.0 That might help you.  See my comment, in response to his question.

You're really better off just buying BTC.  If you're hell bent on mining then maybe a KNC or you could buy a scrypt rig, I think there are people that sell them on here.  Unless you have some computer savvy then head to the altcoin section and there's plenty of guides.

I believe BTC is not worth getting into unless you have lots of time/money and knowhow.
LTC is getting that way too now because of the high mining difficulty. I started on LTC but with just one GFX card in my computer its becoming too slow.

Now I'm playing with the smaller currencies like Dogecoin and Lottocoin for example. They have been pretty profitable so far.
The problem with all these altcoins is that they are easy to mine but worth nothing. So people mine them, sell them for BTC and thus further drive the price down.
LTC and BTC are at least reasonably stable cause they are now linked to he USD and are perceived as having a real value.
