They're scrambling to lock in as much sales as possible because of the upcoming flood of machines coming online in Feb/March. Once they have your cash you're completely locked into buying their outdated equipment... bad idea buying from them when there's so many more other options.

I heard they deliver really good coffee mug warmers if you just wait a year or two (even with mugs included).

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=280630.msg3000555#msg3000555August 25, 2013, 02:33:58 Hi, Few days ago I ordered 2 Monarch cards from BFL. When I ordered they say delivery is estimated in October/November. Now I see the first batch is sold out ( http://www.butterflylabs.com/monarch/) But the delivery dates they publish for the sold out dates are... "November/December" Looks like they got another month delay just few days after they start taking orders...If they finish the "tape out" few few days ago and at that time they estimate 60-90 days what can change now to get an estimation of 90-120 days. With 60-90 days was a risky bet to buy... with 120 is a suicide. I know may I have been an idiot buying from them. Regards

Back when I ordered my BFL 25gh/s miner, the ASIC landscape was bumpy and uncertain, with stories of scams and indefinite pre-orders keeping the community on edge about the whole business. My hardware took 6 months to arrive, by which time its potential value had decreased significantly. Today, Butterfly Labs made this press release: Butterfly Labs (BF Labs Inc.), the Kansas-based leader in Bitcoin mining technology has announced the mid-December 2013 completion of nearly 45,000 ASIC product order shipments - eliminating what had been a multi-month backlog. Butterfly's 65nm product line is now available on their website for immediate sale and delivery. Full ReleaseIs Butterfly Labs a safe investment at this point? Will they deliver what they're advertizing on time and in an acceptable fashion? Butterfly Labs is a very safe investment. They take money up front from customers and then *in my opinion* spend it to develop and ship miners over the next 8-15 months. All R&D, Payroll and operating costs are likely paid out of customer funds. Should make a handsome sum investing in BFL. Oh wait.... Are you thinking of investing in BFL equipment? That's all on you. My last ASIC was delivered right on time 13 Months after I paid for it. That's right JUST 13 short Months! *(In Stock shipping immediately means something different to BFL than it does to you) For around $50 you can release a press release saying the same thing.

dont trust BFL. they will mislead you any way they can.
I have ordered from them 3 times now and eventually did get my hardware (and they are fairly well built aside from crap power supplies) but I never will order from them again.
current BFL hardware will never ROI. their future monarch will never ROI.
there are MUCH better manufacturers to get miners from.

They're pretty much a ponzi scheme and when you do actually get a product, it certainly sucks!

Yeah, as mentioned above the Monarch cards have been delayed multiple times from what I see. I bought a Jalapeno second hand so I don't know about ordering from them direct. But most of the stuff I read in the forums isn't giving them glowing reviews...rather people railing on about them in a very angry fashion...

https://www.facebook.com/ButterflyLabs <-- Have you looked at the complaints littering their Facebook on late delivery? How about some acknowledgement of customer emails guys? Like · Reply · 1 · January 17 at 9:48am Couldn't agree more.. The worst company you can deal with.. Like · 17 hours ago Yeah sorry but you get a failing grade on customer service. No phone support? Inconvenient but not a problem and I understand wanting to save some money by not hiring some CSRs. Search the forums for hrs for your specific question and can't find it? Again not a problem because I can email you. Send a couple of emails that take days and sometimes weeks to respond to? Ok now we have a problem. How are you available for questions or concerns? Anyone who orders from BFL You will get your products, but don't expect it to be delivered on time. Past experience dictates, they never meet there expected target shipping date. I had to wait 7 months for my jally
You guys need to be patient with BFL
