7950 Mac Edition - "easily" useful for Win/Linux?

7950s are becoming rare, however, there are quite a number of Mac special editions around. I believe they have a physical switch to change between Windows/Mac usage? If they are in "Win" mode, they should be useful even with Linux?
Anyone know/have experience with these?

I was going to say, those are hit with a hefty apple tax. Unless you found a deal on them (no more than $350, but $250-300 more realistic) there are better options out there.

No, I figured more in comparison to, say, a 280. probably not a 290 or other, yes.

A 7950 is good for 200-250W. You could probably buy a 280x, under volt/under clock it, and still get the same hashrate and power draw. All from a newer card that (might?) costs less up front and will likely be worth more down the road.

There is no authority, and you really need to figure this stuff up on your own! I've no idea what prices are like in your area for electricity and gpus!
