Just choose to send no fee but the payment might take a while.

If your Coins don't have enough Bitcoindays and/or consist of to many low unspent outputs. You simply can't. It would never get confirmed.

If you just use your client as you have installed it. There's no need for testing. It will work.
All previous versions of currency will no longer be supported as of this update

What client you use ?
Generally you need Bitcoinday to be able to do it, like one 0.1 BTC input not used for 10 days.
