With the roll out of Bitcoin ATM's I am surprised people aren't focusing on a Bitcoin cash register for retail stores. A lot of hard thinking will need to go into making one so that it's secure; it will probably have to work like a POS system were there is a computer in the back room that would handle the transaction just in case someone go crafty and tried to steal the cash register. Smiley

And ATM's are only good for putting money into digital wallet and not actually giving you away to spend it!

Putting bitcoin ATM's into Starbucks or Tim Hortons and providing the retailer with a way for the customers to use their bitcoins to buy a coffee and snack works both ways for the company who manages the ATM and the retailer.

Why can't they just use handheld terminals/devices like chip and pin machines or phones or tablets etc? Doesn’t matter if somebody steals the register anyway because the coins will still be in the blockchain.
