Coins Purpose
This is the virus coin a new coin which is being released with a dual purpose. One of which is to not compete with the bitcoin but help it by polishing the bad name of the bitcoin, caused by it being used in the underground hacking and by the black-market communities. This is a major factor in the expansion of the bitcoin as many are opposed to bitcoins due to there illegal uses. This goal is to be achieved by creating a coin designed for the hackers and underground world, who were the first to adopt the bitcoin and help make the bitcoin what it is today. By creating a coin used by them pressure will come off the bitcoin and the virus coin can then be used in this major market of buying and selling viruses and other misunderstood items by society.

I think better names would be UnderCoin, UndergroundCoin, or BlackMarketCoin. VirusCoin is definitely the wrong way to go.

I am not worried. I looked at the source. The name is silly though and will never gain acceptance due to it. There are much better names.

If hackers are going to use a coin why wouldn't it be Bitcoin Drug dealers and cyber criminals haven't tarnished the reputation or concept of fiat money. Money is money and will be used for everything good and bad.

Its about the money trail. Bitcoin has none (which is why people like to use them) if you use cash, you are adding variables to your money trail. Example: Almost every ATM has a camera and can access your personal information.

Money is not always just money. If you want to spend your money on illegal things you would probably want a secure method to do so. With Bitcoins not controlled by a central entity, there is (almost) no way to figure out who is who, or where the money went.

The Viruscoin dev team saw the issues on the popularity of Bitcoins and illegal acts, and decided to do something about it.

Your right money is money... but we want to encourage the separation of "dirty money" and "clean money"

Bitcoin is built around a money trail and it's more traceable than cash. And criminals don’t launder money through cash machines either. I give a drug dealer on the street cash; there's no log or evidence that that deal went down.

I don't see what the Viruscoin has done different here or what makes it more useful for this. Can you fill me in?

There may be a money trail but the whole thing is encrypted so there is no "digital to individual" trail unless you physically get a hold of a wallet. Viruscoin is no different from any other altcoin, other than the intent. We want Bitcoin to be intended for good, as more and more legitimate companies start to use them (Overstock, New Egg...) Bitcoin will start to come under attack more and more by the mainstream media because of all the illegal acts. I don't know how else to explain it to you.

Will it? Only idiots will believe any bullshit about it being tarnished by it being used for 'bad' stuff. Does drugs, child porn and arms manufacturers give fiat a bad name? Any valid currency will be used by people for whatever they want - good or bad.
