Looking for some help to determine if I actually have any bitcoins.

I mined them from Dec 2011 to Mar 2012 (according to the log files in my database folder).  I have now installed both the bitcoin client and dogecoin.  I copied my original wallet.dat over the new ones and the wallet still shows $0.  I tried this for the bitcoin client and dogecoin, both shows $0.  Am I doing something wrong in trying to access the original data?

Is there something else I should try?  I'm not completely sure that when I did this that maybe I had to join a website that pooled their resources and bitcoins were distributed from there (is this something that was going on in early 2012?)?

Is there a way for me to sift though my original data to verify that bitcoins "should" have been generated?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You are 100% sure that was the wallet.dat you used for the mined coins?

What does dogecoin has to do with you mining in 2011/2012?
Copying the original wallet.dat file, should do the trick. To be sure you can do a rescan. If nothing pops up, then there's no money in that wallet.
Maybe you still have an account, for pooled mining, that contains the Bitcoins.
