Why not? Currently there is no profitable Quarkcoin mining - 4 coins per block now - at least it is ridiculous. FairQuark can give good opportunity to mine moar coins.

Best opportunity is now PRT

Funny to see how many idiots are actually mining this crappy clone and liar scam coin and seriously defending it.  LOL it is actually painful to witness.  You all deserve badges that say "Hi! I'm Retarded!"

I made some comparison based on the tweet I found (https://twitter.com/FairQuark). Hope this helps some doubtful ppl..

FairQuark premine 10M coins for developers to bring out the fairness (only 21M coins mined so far!)
vs
Quarkcoin instamine 56M coins for 3 developers to own and use them as they like (and a lot more for the next 20 addresses)

Is there a maintained list of FairQuark pools somewhere?

Main website & first post here only has two, community rewards thread as a few more, others are scattered throughout the threads.

The settings on your frontpage are incorrect Rob: it's not cgminer and it's not scrypt either Wink

How long did you wait? you could be on an unlucky streak.

That said 45 kh/s is quite low, 64bit miners are usually at 80 kh/s per core and more (using minerd64_sse4), on a quad-core cpu, unlucky streaks can last 3 minutes between shares (on http://fairpool.co.vu:9640/).

If you have only 2 cores at 40 kh/s, I guess that could translate to 12 minutes for unlucky streaks, which is quite long  Undecided

Fixed an issue in the P2Pool for FairQuark (also present in the initial two pools) : the links to block & address finders are incorrect.

They need to be fixed in p2pool/bitcoin/networks.py, by replacing the "176.221.46.81" with "finder.fairquark.com"

FairQuark, this coin is ridiculous and ultimately made because of you being so butt hurt (and no, I don't have thousands of coins either before you say anything). Maybe you should have done your research on Quark before you made this coin and you would have understood what happened.

The whole "pre-mine" concept you keep going on about is utterly false. The people that mined Quark first were in the right place and the right time, they managed to get lots of coins because of the block rewards being so high and the difficulty was very low. It's not "fair" that my favourite desert isn't at the shop sometimes; first come, first served. It's called life.

Quark is already struggling, and "FairQuark" just doesn't have the same ring to it, I honestly don't see a future for this coin other than it having a negative impact on the Quark method of mining alt coins.

However, that being said, good luck.

Please, stop spreading false information. As I previously posted, FairQuark is about 5-10x more fair than Quarkcoin. Quarkcoin instamine was terrible (over 100M coins for 26 addresses) compared to the FairQuark (I think we have mined about 20M coins in total to ALL addresses INCLUDING premine).

Numbers don't lie. Still good time to start mining, good rewards Smiley

Sigh, nor have you done your research. Go on the block explorers, look at the main Quark thread and draw your own conclusions using a calculator/intuition.

There's not point explicitly telling me to stop spreading false information, what I am telling you is hard facts which nobody wants to get of their ass and understand themselves.

Insta-mine isn't fair, I agree, but what makes it terrible? Your telling me the Quark staff did a bad job because they didn't spend thousands of dollars on marketing and ensuring your had a personalized banner outside your window in the morning "Come mine me!". Nor is the government or the banks which can generate money from thin air, fair. Over time, even with all fiat currencies, the money eventually gets spread to the people.

So what if the Quark devs' have a whole bunch of coins from a supposed "pre-mine", you and everyone else on this thread should be respecting the fact your benefiting off their creation by mining this one.
