So call this a free idea ... so if not implemented already somewhere, your welcome.

Say someone wants to walk up to a '2 way ATM'; deposit cash like the newer atm's at your bank; say put in 100 bucks and it instantly converts at current market rate to Bitcoin giving you a printout "recipt" of a privatekey/QR code you can walk away with; ...i.e. import into your home wallet, on your phone etc

Discuss? Why isn't this everywhere yet? (Lets skip the obvious stuff and say you are issued an identification card from the exchange authority, that is what you put into the ATM that way it know's at least whom did the transaction)

Just finding it interesting with all of these company's lining up to accept bitcoin, yet its still a multiday event to get in to buy ...

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

What you described is the RoboCoin Bitcoin ATM.  There's been one at Waves Coffee in Downtown Vancouver since October, thanks to the hard work of the Bitcoiniacs.  This machine did over $1,000,000 of transactions in its first month, so--like you said--there is definitely a need.

I understand that RoboCoin expects to have approximately 30 machines shipped by March 2014.  Adding in Lamassu and other vendors, 2014 is set to be the year of the bitcoin ATM.

Check ...yes given the momentum of every company under the sun virtually everyday getting into accepting, the critical mass of individuals will want to buy some BTC in the easiest fashion possible.

Any chance of a multi-currencies ATM?

Very doubtful. The ATM would issue fiat of the country where it is located. Anything else would be a can of worms.

Any chance of a multi-currencies ATM?

a bitcoin atm is intrinsically a multi currency atm, and more.....

they can do currency transfer when you buy it you own currency and sell later

and give you exposure to pay in BTC to an increasing number of BTC purchase options.

But I know what you mean, and that will come to.
