'Sup

I've got my rig running for about 3 weeks non stop and yesterday my PSU made some high pitched tones and turned down. I can still start it up but as soon as cgminer gets all cards on 100% the PSU shuts off. After it shut off I have to unplug it and wait a few minutes so I canl restart the PC.
Could this really a faulty PSU be? It has 1500 Watt, so it got enough to run all the components.

The PSU is only 3 weeks old that's why I'm curios. That would be bullshit, costed 320 Euro.
Do I have warranty for such cases?

Just tell 'em you plugged it into you PC and it keeps switching off. You should get a replacement after just 3 weeks.

What PSU make/model do you have? What are you loading it with?

If it's a Platimax 1200 it might just be an overloaded rail.
They have 6x 360W rails meaning you cannot load more than 360W per wire.

Single rail PSU are much less hassle, because you don't have that worry, but you can melt the cables!  Wink

you sir, are awesome!

it indeed is a platimax and switching around the connectors worked. it was an overloaded rail. Cheesy
thanks!

since I don't want to spam the forum with another thread I'm just going to ask my question here.
I build a new rig which is nearly identical to my old one. The only big difference is that it uses usb 3.0 with ubuntu istead of a hard disk.
Well, my problem is not that it won't run with any Intensity higher than 11. If I change it to 12 it freezes up and I have to reboot the PC. Seems like both GPUs die down, I only can control it over SSH if that happens.
With Intensity 11 I only get about 220 k/hash but with 13 it would be around 730 like in my other rigs.

Any ideas? Cheesy

I dunno what you're running on but read these

https://coinaxis.com/index.php/entry/how-to-configure-cgminer-for-litecoin-bitcoin-windows-8
https://teksyndicate.com/forum/litecoin/how-tweak-your-settings-and-squeeze-khs-out-your-card-using-cgminer/137706

Either your cut off temp is too low or the concurrency setting is too high.

See what settings people are using for similar cards here:

concurrency is 8192 and cutoff is set at 95. that's not the problem.

settings:
./cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://world.wemineltc.com:3333 -u XXX -p XXX -g 2 -w 256 -I 13 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8192,8192 --gpu-engine 1080,1080 --gpu-memclock 1500,1500 --auto-fan --temp-cutoff=95 --temp-target=80 --failover-only -o stratum+tcp://usa2.wemineltc.com:3335 -u XXX -p XXX

changed username and pw ofc. :p

Its just that the Intensity above 11 instantly kills the gpu. Even the monitor can't display anything anymore if that happens.

The highest intensity does leave the monitor laggy and unresponsive that doesn't mean your card has crashed though. It's just how it works.

No, it really crashed.
It doesn't even show up on the pool stats after one hour.
If I SSH on the rig I can clearly see that cgminer is running but nothing happens anymore. It just froze.
