I own a mining operation that hashes at the ridiculous rate of 9,000+ MH/s, and gets closer to 10,000 MH/s in the evening. Over the last week I have averaged over 9,000 MH/s. I am willing to rent out this "farm" to interested parties.
Terms are as follows:
1) 7 day contract 2) Guaranteed 9,000 MH/s average over the contract term 3) MINING WILL BE DONE AT MY CURRENT POOL, you will merely recieve the pay-outs. I will set auto payment for every 2.5 BTC 4) Any increase in mining power over the contract is yours, gratis. (I still have a few GPU's to put to work) 5) Payment is to be made half in advance, half at the midpoint of the contract.
Price: 32 BTC
My terms are firm, please DO NOT ask for something different. If no one is interested, I am glad to keep hashing away and keeping the BTC myself.
If you would like to purchase this contract, reply with your BTC address and send your initial payment (16 BTC) to my address (which can be found below).
Thanks!
Please read this as well!
Since I have begun offering these contracts, the difficulty level has fallen SIGNIFICANTLY, and my hashing power has grown. I now average over 11,000 MH/s.
Given these new circumstances, the price for a 7 day contract is now 55 BTC. I am pricing this based on an assumed difficulty of 1,250,000 (which should be very close to where the next adjustment will be).

Why are you doing this, if you can earn more just hashing?

There is another thread up here for my last contract, went off without a hitch and the buyer verified that. Look for the thread titled "mining contract - 8,000 MH/s"

Why are you doing this, if you can earn more just hashing? I have miners that do not run during the day, as the workstations are being used for other purposes. I bump up about 1 GH overnight. I went into a whole explanation of why I am willing to pre-sell for less than expected value. If you really want to read the debate, head over the the thread titled "mining contract - 8,000 MH/s". It basically boils down to exchange rate risk. I get 32 BTC of certain value today, the buyer gets 36+ BTC of uncertain value over the next week. that help?

So you are hedging then? Precisely. I am willing to forego some expected return to lock in some certainty. The very definition of "hedging". I jus topped 10,000 MH/s.....very cool moment! So is anyone interesed in this contract?

Im curious why you'd do this? Whether you get the BTC revenue from mining or someone renting the farm, i dont quite see the point? Unless you have a small pool, with 9GH you wouldnt see a lot of variability over the course of a month...
BTW, however got that 30 day contract probably did a good deal as difficulty is about to drop quite a bit.

yeah that was me... i paid 150 btc for the 30 days and so far i'm projecting it to return at least 165 to 170 (a bit too early to guess yet, plus it looks like difficulty might drop again next week ) i'll report back here with more specifics once the contract term ends (around oct 28).

We have discussed this at length in two threads now....go back and take a look. It has to do with hedging future price risk. Also, establishing a credible trading record was a secondary goal. We probably mis-priced the 30 day contract, but live and learn.

well, the numbers are in and i just got a touch over 160 btc.
contract price: 150 contract length: 30 days return: 160.51
R.O.I. 7% annualised R.O.I. 128% p.a. (put in $1 and get $2.28 a year later)
so, compared to a standard bank account this is really great, but compared to my earlier luck with the 7-day contract (9700% p.a. ROI) it's been really disappointing.
yochdog cites the deepbit issues as the main reason for the low-ish outcome.
i was hoping the 2 difficulty drops would really increase the payouts, but it didn't have much effect.

You are correct....the Deepbit outage was brutal. Not only did it cause mining stoppage for a prolonged period, it wreaked havoc on my miners and I had to go restart many of them manually. I am glad you still made a good return, but apologize that it was not as much as before. I guess using pools will always run that sort of risk, but still disappointing. Thanks again for the business!
