If someone who was reputable were to start a serious charitable organization that was bitcoin based (or any coin for that matter) and had a crowd sourced giving schedule... (meaning the forums help decide who we give the money to) would that be something people think they would give to?

Obviously there wouldn't be 100% decisions made by the forum or reddit, or whatever site we setup where people give and vote... The board of the charity would still have to vet the recipients... but I mean, how many people here think they would donate to an effort like that.

I would prefer if charitable organizations in general came on board with bitcoin.  Then we would all have the freedom to donate to and support what we choose.  I am not a fan of democracy (mob) rule of my money, that's one of the reasons why I am into bitcoin to begin with, to get the 'controllers' out of all our pockets!

That's an interesting point.  What if the focus of the charity was to actually go out and get more charitable organization to accept bitcoins?
