A small recovery may be possible, but surge over last year record price is pie in the sky! At the current rate, I'm not optimistic enough to affirm that this year Bitcoin will create a reversal.

In theory, this can happen. But for Bitcoin's current situation, it's hard to overcome $ 20,000 this year. Because in 2018, the number of participants investing in the cryptocurrency market has fallen sharply compared to the end of 2017.

The shenannigans with the high fees at the end of last year (where in some cases people were paying $1000 in fees to move coins) really damaged bitcoin, and we haven't recovered from that.

It will take a couple of years for the bad memories to fade.

That was a nightmare. Almost no one wanted to make any transactions during that time because of the high transaction fees. They were really crazy, the fees didn’t make it worth it to make a transfer. It has made others think that bitcoin would no longer progress due to those kind of fees unless a solution is made. Along with long confirmation time, bitcoin is rendered nearly useless by then. It’s a good thing it has changed for now even with a lower price.

Last year. Bitcoin price reached 19800$ is the highest price. And this year I think the bitcoin price will exceed 20,000$ when the market starts recovering. In the past 2 days, bitcoin prices have gone up positively. Believe that the market will soon recover and may break this price

Bitcoin is gonna hit 100K usd

Bitcoin is a long term investment and we can't expect such a surge this year! If Bitcoin grows sustainably, it will gradually go up, not peak all of the sudden and then dip more than half the value. Stay tuned with Bitcoin!

If Bitcoin can created such a spectacular reversal, then it can generate a more surprising downtrend. We shouldn't hope such a surge. Instead, a sustainable growth is better.
To answer your question, I think the scenario of sudden peak like that is impossible 'cause the signals are unclear and not very optimistic.

The current price of Bitcoin hasn't been lower that the last year low yet, but it doesn't mean this year Bitcoin will set a new peak again, because the two situation is totally different. Last year Bitcoin peaked 20k$ in no time but all of the sudden it has been slopping up to now. Investors therefore will keep more vigilant for fear of the repetition of last year scenario.
