If you are sure the card is good ie tested in another slot and you know the slot is good ie tested another working card in that slot then it should not be the drivers or sdk.  It could be your Intensity or thread concurrency, but start with hardware info:

How much system memory and what is the power supply?

How much system memory and what is the power supply?

-pcie slots checked
-risers checked
-gpu-s checked
-psu lepa 1600
-4gb dual ddr3 or something like that Smiley

When I try to connect fifth card then one is off with error 43 is visible in devices list but off due to error 43.
I ve been told that win 7 support only 4 gpu like r9 280x.
I am downloading now catalyst drivers 12.6 - someone gave me that advice.
Any more info will be appreciated
Kind regards

It seems to be board dependent on boards tha twill run more than 4 gpu cores from this thread.  I didn't look specifically for your board, but catalyst driver, sdk, motherboard all seem to factor in.

Catalists 12.6 + SDK 12.7 + cgminer 3.7.0 (not 3.7.2) = 5gpu on win 7 Cheesy
DONE BUAHAHA
r9780x is seen as r7990

Good to hear and I'll keep this thread for reference for the sdk/catalyst driver combo if I decide to build a 5+ card rig.  All my rigs run 3-4 cards....

edit
r9 280x is seen as r7990 but hashrate dropped from 700 to 550 k/hash as CCC 12.6 do not support r9 280 x .
Kind regards

Hmm, interesting. I have 3 R7990's and 2 work sweet (4 gpu's). Since 1 7990 is 2 gpu's it would make sence why I've been fighting with getting the 3'rd one working (total of 6 gpu's), never knew there was a limit. I'll go from here! thx

I had the same problem.  I had 5 cards and all were detected but 1 of them would not load the drivers.  Updated to Win 8.1 and everything worked.  I had tried everything up to that point. (old drivers, new drivers, switching cards and pcie lanes.)
