Instant-E.com online wallet is what most people would call a SCAM!
My first experience with mining was an eye opener. I thought keeping your own digital wallet was potentially insecure and looked toward online wallets to store my initial Litecoin mining.
Instant-E.com online wallet was a BAD choice for me to store my LTC. They took my first 0.59 LTC deposit and scammed me!!
Thankfully it was only 0.59 LTC taken!!
Please list sites that have taken you money so that other may not be subject to the same fate.

I wouldn't use any online wallets for alt coins. BTC's Blockchain.info is legit and very safe if you take advantage of all the security features.

Thanks for the response. Now, I only keep my coin in my own desktop wallets, making sure to encrypt my data, keep backups of my wallets, and have them offline most of the time unless engaging in a transaction. Lessons learned

Yeah Google hasn't picked it up yet http://multichain.netThanks for the link multichain seemed also be "hacked" and down Stop using online wallet! Use a famous exchange is still a little risky, but at least better than using online wallet, especially free online wallet! If the guy who run the scam website can not get reward with the "free" service, there is more risk that it is a scam!!

I lost few coins (not too much) at dogevault.com, don't know if it was a scam or not, they claim they were hacked, whatever it was a lot of people lost a lot of coins.

Keeping it in your computer is safest, just don't get key logged and hacked . Well anti-virus and firewall should help.

NEVER EVER go for a online LTC wallet, just download the client. There are 1/10 legit litecoin wallets out there

It is definitely safer to store the bitcoin/altcoin in your personal wallet rather than on an exchange. Anti-virus and firewall should help, but you should also use common sense to avoid downloading "strange" files.

My first and last lesson with online (3rd party) wallets was Inputs.io. Didn't keep too much on there -- less than 1 BTC. But it was a real wake-up call when I found out it had been "hacked"....

I heard MT Gox scammed a few people Too soon? Not really an online wallet, though. Although, it did seem like quite a few people did use them as a wallet, mining address, etc. Pretty crazy. I would have thought after so many scams by centralized bitcoin services, that so many people wouldn't have trusted an exchange to be a wallet service... but knowing this community, this will only continue....

I hear people are still mining to them and some pools had to block the addresses And someone on reddit just sent mtgox 800 btc
