yea i tried to find a old supermicro from 2005? 2002? 2000? not sure, but everybody should remember those 3 foot tall computer towers. I manage to find one about 2 feet all on ebay but it only had 7! expansion slot. The ones i quoted are 8 slots. I got mine off bestbuy because it was 129.99. It's goes for as low as 59.99 to 119 online. But if you buy from bestbuy u get version 3! while online and ebay they are mostly version 2. Version 2 had incline slope on top. Version 3 has 1 usb 3.0 cable and a flat top with a bump at end.  Don't know if you guys can see this but I posted my rig on facebook.

It probably reflects my relative cluelessness about computer hardware, but what surprises me about these caseless rigs is that they don't get damaged by dust and other insults.

it's not dust i'm worried about it's critters, pets, water from basement pipes as well as the needy brother/friends who are over. Also it's portable.

thank you, I couldn't find that feature no more.. where u can specify expansion slots. I knew newegg had it awhile back. That and newbies posting full towers with 7 expansion slots really bores me.

Click the Advanced tab on the left, and the very last drop down menu is for expansion slots.
