When does trading happen the most?

I would assume noon-5 est is where the majority of when coins are trader ,but does anyone know? Is it more price based so if big swings one way cause most of the movement in coins?

I'd just like to throw in a brief plea here for people to use UTC when talking about times for bitcoin.

It's a global medium - people in these forums are from all over.   EST,EDT etc don't mean jack to most people.
(And are in fact ambiguous as for example EST is used here in Australia and I suspect more than one other country - they are obviously not the same timezone.)

UTC is a reference point we can all work from.

You are aware that the vast majority of the world does not live in the states and does not care what you call your timezones?

Yes - our country has an East too.. we sometimes even have standards..  also clocks!   
EST is Eastern Standard Time here too.
Our largest city Sydney uses it - and also our capital city Canberra plus Melbourne, Brisbane and other population centres.
Being the 'east' it's the first timezone here too (how about that!)
It's also used for 'so much stuff' here.


So.. the upshot is - You don't want to hear times quoted in our EST - we don't want to hear times in your EST.
These sorts of abbreviations are parochial and ambiguous in a forum like this.

UTC is a global reference point.
