Stolen bitcoins from blockchain.info 05/22/2018

Someone hacked and cleaned my account 2 days ago with all my bitcoins. It happened after using Bither and Bitpie app for hard forks !!!!!!. Blockchain.info customer service just said sorry for your loss. No investigation nothing All my investment gone.

I'm very sorry to hear about this. You may have some type of malware on your computer that resulted in your funds being stolen because your private information was somehow obtained. One of the most common types of these are browser extensions posing as bitcoin price tickers that are actually stealing your account information. There's also the possibility that you visited a phishing site posing as Blockchain. We've also heard of computer viruses that detect when an address is in your clipboard, and replace the one you wanted to use with an address controlled by this malicious party.

By design, Blockchain never has access to users' accounts or funds. If you keep your password and private key backups secure, then your funds are always safe with us. Since this information has been compromised, be sure to never use this wallet or any addresses contained within it. I'd also highly advise against using the same password again. I'm truly sorry that you had funds stolen from you. That certainly is an extremely frustrating experience.

that's the worst thing they can say because they think you're guilty because maybe they got the identity of your account when you did not know much scamer so then you'll be careful how often you know what to do later on especially in the bitcoin field.

No one should ever be using Blockchain.info in the first place. By design, web wallets are incredibly insecure as they can insert codes as they wish without notifying their users. In this case, I doubt its their fault; did you have 2FA? Did you install/run any suspicious programs?

If you didn't setup 2FA, any hackers would be able to get into your account with ease. Even with 2FA, it isn't that difficult. Desktop wallets are way more secure than web wallets, 2FA or not.

Most probably one of those apps you installed or phishing site got hold of your password. I have used blockchain.info wallet and didn't have problems. Sadly, in your case, there's only so much they can do since the password and private key is with you. Be careful next time.

To late now. I was using their service for three years with one minor hiccup last year, but that's it. Only one thing I have noticed last year I had issues with login into account and couldn't log into my account. I was getting message one more try and your account will be locked and then I went from their  android app without any issues I have change credentials and everything was OK. So they have a flow somewhere in phone app.

This shit is the main reason why I don't use the blockchain.info wallet anymore, not that I ever really thought it was a good wallet to begin with.  I've always preferred non-web wallets because of my own inherent paranoia, and this is confirmation that said paranoia is justified.  On the other hand, they might well be correct in asserting that it may have been malware--I've no clue what other websites you've visited nor what you've downloaded.  There certainly has been malicious password-stealing code that people have unwittingly downloaded.

The problem is actually from the blockchain.info developers , I have doubt that there are someone from the team of blockchain who often withdraw bitcoins from the wallets of users, If you look at the address of the hacker you will find that he withdraw bitcoins from hundreds of wallets within a minute or two which is not possible for a hacker but behind the scene there is someone who is doing that. It also happened a few months ago for which the team said sorry and told that it is malware in user PC and then after a few weeks it was announced that the hackers caught and no one was paid. It will happen again and again so it is better to not use it.

you said you've been using bc.info for 3 years and no bad experiences yet so far
if it's really blockchain.info's doing, why they wait that long to screw you up

I suggest remember what you have done in the process of claiming those hard forks
there is big chance you exposed your private keys somewhere when trying to claim those forks

Mostly the hard fork wallets use seed or recovery phrase to claim those altcoins, tho what are those hard forks you're trying to claim? Anyway, blockchain.info are completely out of this issue, its either there are some malware/keylogger/phishing wallets are injected on those wallets/software you used claiming the hard fork coins.

The addresses used across those forks are the same. Seeds/recovery phrase are used to derive the private key and then to import the addresses. Blockchain.info does use seeds though some addresses generated in the past are independent of it.

This can happen for OP no matter what wallet he use, he expose his private keys/seed to some fake wallets/services because he want to claim fork coins. First and foremost rule is to move your coins from primary wallet, so even if you make such mistake you can lost only forked coins - in this case OP lost BTC and probably forked coins. There are many examples of such incidents here on forum but also on every crypto related site on the internet.

Ignorance and greed is something hackers play all the time, and by some reports they make fortune in this.

Something interesting, I have hired people for the recovery of stolen BTC and one off the service send me in 2 hours video where they hack into thieves secured blockchain.info wallet where I could see all of my BTC, it shows when they received all my btc's and when they sent to next address. This is the first time when I was scared how easy was to hack for them to get inside of very well secured account (thieves account).  I know so far that it was well-organized heist on many accounts. I m getting more pics of their route. they are using tumblers to hide all the money so far they send a pic with dump account with almost 1 million dollars in there. For nonbelievers, I have that video in my possession, but btcs still in the air. So nothing is secure .

I think that first I will send this video to customer service of Blockchain, as a proof that their service is not safe Those robbers were doing this for few weeks. Breaking into people accounts and cleaning them. Check on google recently a lot of people had a similar story,  I just found googling around.

What the hell? This is a big exploit on the web wallet blockchain.info. Haha Imagine that someone can able to access easily or simply bruteforcing other wallet because you do seek help or recovery on such funds? I do feel like im dreaming on the things you are trying to say on here.For Non believers then include me to that one and why you cant post the video publicly? everyone can easily trace your funds movements because all transactions are available to everyone on blockchain
the problem is identifying the owner of the suspected address because pseudonymous nature of bitcoin
if that service actually hacked into the thief's bc.info wallet then he can reclaim your funds!

tell us your address, any of us can easily show you the movements of your funds
and I can make it look like I hacked into bc.info wallet,... by importing the address as watch-only address

that screenshot only show balance... I can show you the same by importing watch-only addresses or simple html edit
if that service did hack into thief's bc.info wallet then they can control the funds unless 2nd password is activated

the thief's account? how would that service knows if the thief is using bc.info and his wallet ID?
since that service hacked into thief's wallet, ask them to sign a message using the thief's address
please re-read my previous post and understand the bolded part

can you tell us your bitcoin address and where it went to (thief's btc address)?
you've lost it already, so disclosing those addresses won't hurt you at all
