Help me to understand minting, the low energy mining.

My question is about minting .
Form my understanding the goal is to hold the coins to create coinage. But then i read the Walker need to be online and unlocked to mint. So if i dont have internet , do i produce coinage? And how to payout coinage?
I now setup a Philosopher coin wallet and begab minting. How long would it take to geht Mord coins? Do i some day rezeive a smal amount Form my own address? And what is coinage worth?
If i hold coins  a year and than Beginn minting is this better than directly mint ? Does it worth anything ?
