Hi all

I noted that some ICOs like LAPO.io have a steady growth in their sold altcoin volumes.
But when checking their wallets - eg in case of LAPO bitcoin and ETH, it shows very little volume/ transactions and very limited assets (<1000 usd).

This feels scammy and looks like they want to create a hype and trust based on fake sold volumes.

What are your experiences regarding this?
Any other ICOs that do this?

So far I have not received a reply from LAPO in my request for proof of the sold volumes or overall received funds.

Thanks! Let us all keep us save with sharing these informations.

Cheers

I myself have also seen this tendecy. Maybe you would go through the documents and whitepaper for more scammy details ?
If you have so far I have not received a reply from LAPO in request for proof of the sold volumes or overall received funds that is already strange.

The modern world can’t be imagined without all kinds of  IT-innovations, One of these new products is ICO Vireo. This project is very promising and reliable. I personally use this ICO and it’s very cool. Check it!

Thanks for your replies!
I also wanted to post in their thread - but it is self-governed and they not accepted and published my message.

What can I do to make this public?
I want to help protect less careful small investors.

Here's the Ann for reference:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2981605.0

So, you mean you posted there and they deleted your post? I've noticed that it helps to be extra polite and sound as much as possible like you are not accusing them at all.

I mean, don't get me wrong, the fact that they have a moderated thread should be enough of a red flag.

Maybe open a unmoderated Lapo thread in the Ann section, post the link here and in their Ann thread (not accusing, just "Unmoderated thread: *link*) and see what happens.

Try not to be agressive, that won't lead to anything. Like big red letters screaming "SCAM!" will get deleted in almost any thread.

Hi ttokk

Yes, this is what happened unfortunately - thanks for your tip!
I will open an unmoderated thread then and see where it leads us.

For security reasons we have different and many address of eth and btc for all stages like whitelist and ico. We dont want to be targeted by hackers and so many scammers around. We are keeping the money of our contributors safe.

There's not much faith in ICOs at the moment and so a lot of them struggle to raise the required amount for their project. It's not surprising that ICOs will falsify volumes to make their project look like it's been sought after.

I think you should move this thread to the scam accusation section if you want to targe about that particular project LAPO and where they are responsible to reply if you got anough eidence that they have nothing in their wallets. These kind of things happened many times and lot of DT members tagged them as well so move it now and strart the serious discussion there.

Yeah this is very pathetic way to scam innocent people online, i also experienced an ico in the past called ethbooks that continuosly was showing fake amount of funds raised that was increasing continuously just to lure people to invest quickly, those scammers disappeared as soon as they called the close of ico another one was energzine, i think such culprits should be brought to justice.
