As the title implies: Will be able to power 3x r9 290 with a single 1000w PSU? I can get this Tesla R2 1000W for rather cheap.

may be took the wron topic, but i did some tests on it:

how do you do cooling? airflow? i assume its not a good idea to use a 1000W power supply. Propose a 1200W.

Yes it should work, but don't overclock too much cause it would draw even more power...

Oh I won't. Trying to be as cost efficient as possible with the KH / w ratio.

Thanks, but after further research I came to the conclusion that even a 850w will be enough (but they're all sold out lol!). So I'll be buying a 1000w after all.

Man, I'd get a 850w, at least gold, but damn, they're ALL sold out here and I can get a 1000w gold here cheaper than a 850w on ebay... so yea...

290s are 300w cards, at least at stock volts / clocks.

i have one R9 290 with no changes i made by my own, mining at 0,83MH/s direct coming from the dealer, and drawing 370W on air. May be a standard 290 is less...i like to compare with my other 290
