.....adapter cables?
What advantage do that 2 extra 4 pin connectors offer? vs just maxing out the psu to gpu connectors AKA pci-express connectors (6 pin or 8 pin)

It negates the use of powered risers as it has extra power already provided by the additional molex connectors located on the motherboard.
