This is not my coin I am just posting it to Announcements since the creator never did.
The creator is the same as Dogecoin.

Original thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=349695.0

[BEL] Bells

Scrypt coin based on the currency from the Nintendo game Animal Crossing.

Logo by Daswiruch

In the Animal Crossing universe, Bells are the primary form of currency. To gather them, you must collect fruits, catch bugs, fish, dig for fossils, etc. and trade those items for Bells. In the crypto world, we just mine for them!

The Bell amount you get from the various items is quite random, so Bells as a cryptocurrency has random rewards in various denominations as well.

Future work
Bells was made with fun in mind as well as an unhealthy obsession with Animal Crossing Smiley
If it catches on in popularity, I may be compelled to work on a "Tom Nook's store" type trading Post exchange for virtual goods and the like!

Sample Config File with Addnodes

Code:
rpcuser=bells
rpcpassword=areawesome
addnode=199.127.226.129
addnode=162.243.113.110
rpcport=19918
server=1
daemon=1

My holdings as of thread creation
Code:
My coin holdings as of creating this thread were mentioned that I might have a lot and wanting to pump the coin to sell.
At the start of this post I have ~42k bells and only have about 250 KH/s to mine with.
You can look at how many blocks have been mined already and the current mining hashrate yourself and see that isn't much.

If anyone wants to donate to me for bringing awareness to the coin they can here if they want: BDCiYUTiHqrcs81BZBUeZU1ZZ991xqo6uD

I like Animal Crossing and cryptocurrencies that don't have billion+ totals.
That is why I made sure this coin got posted in the correct section even though it is a little older.

Original thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=349695.0

Difficulty is super so so still could get plenty of blocks even solo mining, but I understand that the block count will put people off.

I have ~42k from mining this when I couldn't think of anything else. People with higher hashrates won't take long to overtake that and it is nothing I am sure to what some people are holding of the coin.

I just like animal crossing and liked the way the block rewards worked. Apparently other people do too since it was copied for Dogecoin and basically all other other meme coins.

Wow it is nice to see the hashrate go up so much!

I posted a section at the bottom about my holdings of the coin since this is an older coin and someone brought it up that I might be trying to pump the value since I am a huge holder, I am not.

If anyone wants to donate to me for bringing awareness to the coin I posted my address which is: BDCiYUTiHqrcs81BZBUeZU1ZZ991xqo6uD

If the coin dies at least I gave it one last chance.

don't let it die, mining (low hashrate)  is one solution to support this coin.

If someone know how to make a block explorer, you're welcome.

Exactly.

After what happened with Doge today I am sure the creator won't ever have time for this coin again.

It would be great if someone else took over working on it, but I know most people prefer to make their own coin.

His other coin funded a Jamaican bobsled team. His choice is made of what coin to focus on.
