I bought bitcoins from Kapiton on a weekly basis. I enjoyed their service.

Kapiton then started an overhaul over two months ago. I understand they might be having internal issues but my instincts have come to believe they are having legal issues with the government.

Kapiton never did AML or KYC. A lot of money flowed in and out. Over 500k SEK per day easily.
I find highly unlikely for Skatteverket and other agencies to just let what happened last year fade in to the past. I have seen them go full-on after much smaller cases in the past.

I believe everyone who had any substantial amount of deals with Kapiton will have to explain themselves in some sort of way. It may take sometime but I believe that is what will happen.

I have heard of people getting letters in 2014 on bitcoin related issues from over 10 months ago. I cannot go into detail as I am not the one involved thus cannot simply spill the beans on others.

I hope Sebastian would appear in the forum and confirm/deny if indeed this is the case, although I must speculate once more and think he might not even be able to speak about what is happening.

EDIT: Wrote in english as I lack enough skills to write in Swedish.

From what I've read (sorry no sources), this is a rougue operation, and it's best to stay away. Funds might be lost. The dude running it is a scammer or highly incompetent. I would think the first is a more plausible explanation. There's been some thread on reddit regarding this.

Nothing of rogue or scam. Pure rumours. Even after Kapiton had stopped accepting deposits I still sent money because I new my deposit code. It took a bit longer than usual but it got deposited eventually. In December the withdraw of bitcoin was taking weeks. Now 3 months on looks like the website has been abandoned.

Created account at Kapiton this morning and when looking at possibility to by bitcoins found out they have stopped working. Now btcx rules in Sweden. Btcx is expensive so I bought small amount on tradera.

Will Kapiton ever work?
